【タイトル】 日本人のパーソナルメディア、ソーシャルメディア利用（Personal and Social Media Usage in Japan）
【概要】Outline 携帯電話やインターネットの普及にともない、日本人の情報行動は大きく変化してきている。近年では携帯電話、携帯メール、パソコンを通じた電子メールといったパーソナルメディアだけでなく、TwitterやFacebookといったソーシャルメディアの普及も著しい。また、携帯電話はスマートフォンに代替されつつある。このようなメディア環境の変化について、本報告では調査データをもとに議論する。主に2005年以降に発表者の関わった全国調査データを用いて、特に10代から30代の人びとのパーソナルメディアおよびソーシャルメディアの利用実態について報告する。
With diffusion of mobile phones and the Internet, Japanese information behavior, especially media usage behavior, has drastically changed. In recent years, not only personal media including mobile phones, mobile mails, and e-mails via personal computer but also social media such as Facebook and Twitter have become increasingly popular. In addition, feature phones are being replaced with smart phones such as iPhones or Android phones. This presentation discusses the change of media environment in Japan based on survey data. Using Japanese national survey data after 2005, I would like to report on the Japanese young people’s usage of personal and social media.
【プロフィール】Profile 北村智（きたむら さとし） Satoshi Kitamura
東京経済大学コミュニケーション学部専任講師。東京大学大学院情報学環ベネッセ先端教育技術学講座特任助教を経て、2011年より現職。専門はメディア・コミュニケーション論。研究関心はメディア環境と情報行動にある。
He is currently an assistant professor in the Faculty of Communication Studies at Tokyo Keizai University. Before joining in the faculty, he was a project assistant professor in the Benesse department of Educational Advanced Technology at the Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies, the University of Tokyo. His major is mediated-communication studies. His research interests focus on media environment and human information behavior.

How have ICTs Transformed Intercultural Experience ? ―The case of Indonesians coming to Japan through Economic Partnership Agreement ―
【概要】Outline 1980年代の海外暮らしでは母国との連絡は手紙と国際電話に限られていたが、昨今では、携帯電話の多機能化やスマートフォンの出現、ブロードバンドによるメディア環境の激変により異文化体験そのものが変わってきた。本発表は、EPAで来日しているインドネシア人からの聞き取りデータをもとに、ICTを活用し安く頻繁に母国の家族や友人と交信しているかを素描する。そうしたICTの活用が異文化体験をどのように変容させ、また、異文化体験の意義をどのように変えつつあるのかについて考察を試みる。
Indonesian candidates for nurses and care workers have been accepted by hospitals and nursing homes all over Japan. We have interviewed 36 candidates to examine their experience in Japan, and their meaning attached to this migration and found that a sort of virtual ethnic enclave has been formed by ICT such as the mobile phone and computer-mediated communication. Facebook is the most preferred means of communication among Indonesians. Most of them communicate with their parents through a mobile phone. This virtual ethnic enclave functions as a social support network to cope with difficulties they encountered in Japan and as a site of information exchange.

岡山大学、東京大学、お茶の水女子大学で教えたのちに退職。著書は、『子供の異文化体験』、『文化のなかの子ども』、『地球市民を育てる教育』、『フィールドワークの技法と実際』など。
MINOURA Yasuko is Emerita professor at Ochanomizu University. She obtained her doctorate in anthropology from UCLA . Her main interest is in investigation of cultural influence upon human development and education. She is the author of Intercultural Experience during Childhood (1984), Cultural Perspectives on Child Development(1990), Ethnographic Fieldwork: Introduction (1999) and Analysis & Interpretation (2009).
